Privacy notice
Version 1.0 · Effective 4 November 2026. This is the first version of this notice.
This notice explains how AI Catch-up (ai.randswitch.com) handles your personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). We collect as little as we can.
Who is responsible for your information
AI Catch-up is a trading name of EasyGov (Pty) Ltd, a private company registered in South Africa (registration number 2024/365166/07). EasyGov (Pty) Ltd is the responsible party for personal information processed through AI Catch-up.
Address: 6 Bournemouth Bend, Parklands, Cape Town, 7441, South Africa · ai@randswitch.com · 081 745 1306
Our Information Officer is Sagie Chetty, Director of EasyGov (Pty) Ltd. Contact him at ai@randswitch.com or 081 745 1306, or write to 6 Bournemouth Bend, Parklands, Cape Town, 7441.
For anything about AI Catch-up you can also use ai@randswitch.com. (Sessions never take place at this address; please don't visit without an appointment.)
What we collect, and why
- When you get in touch (WhatsApp, phone call, SMS or email): your name, phone number or email address, your area (or "online"), and what you tell us, such as what you'd like AI to help you with. We use it to reply, to arrange your free chat or session, and to prepare for it.
- When you book: the date, time and format (Microsoft Teams or in person), the venue we agree on, the price, whether you've paid, and any messages about the booking (changes, cancellations, refunds). We use it to deliver the session, keep proper business and tax records, and deal with any question or complaint.
- During a session: you work on your own phone or laptop, in your own accounts. If you share your screen or show us your device, we may see what's on it. We don't copy, photograph or keep it. Close anything you don't want seen. We never ask for your passwords. What you type into an AI tool goes to that tool's provider (for example OpenAI, Google, Microsoft or Meta) under your own account and their terms, not ours.
- We don't record sessions. We won't record a call or session (audio, video or screen) unless everyone on it has agreed beforehand. If we ever do, we'll tell you why, how long we'll keep it and how to have it deleted.
- When you visit this website: we count visits without cookies. For each page view we store the date, the page, the referring website and your country. To count unique visitors, our server also makes a scrambled code from your IP address and browser details mixed with a random key that changes every day, and stores only part of that code. We never store your IP address or browser details themselves. The daily key is deleted at the end of each day, so the codes can't be linked to you or across days, and the codes are deleted after 31 days. We use this only to see how many people visit and which pages they read (our legitimate interest under POPIA section 11(1)(f)). This site uses no cookies, no advertising or tracking tools and no third-party analytics. If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, we don't make the code.
- Our host, Cloudflare, also processes your IP address and browser details to deliver the site and keep it secure, in its own short-term server logs.
Giving us your details is voluntary, but we can't arrange a chat or session without a way to contact you. We don't have user accounts, newsletters or online payments on this site. We don't make automated decisions about you.
Who else handles it (our operators)
We don't sell your information. We share it only with these service providers, who process it for us or carry the communication you choose:
- Meta (WhatsApp), if you message or call us on WhatsApp.
- Microsoft (Teams), if your chat or session is on Teams.
- Google (Gmail) and Cloudflare (email forwarding, web hosting and the visit counter), for email and this website.
- Your and our mobile network, for phone calls and SMS.
- Our bank, if you pay by bank transfer, and our accountant or SARS, where the law requires it.
Outside South Africa: Meta, Microsoft, Google and Cloudflare may store or process your information outside South Africa, including in the United States and the European Union. We use them because their services are covered by contracts and privacy safeguards that give protection substantially similar to POPIA (POPIA section 72). By contacting us through WhatsApp, Teams or email you also choose to use that service under its own privacy policy.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don't lead to a booking: deleted within 12 months of our last message.
- Booking and payment records: 5 years, because tax law requires it.
- Session notes (if any): deleted within 12 months of your last session, or sooner if you ask.
- Visit counts: kept only as totals. Daily visitor codes: 31 days.
Messages from us
We'll contact you only about your enquiry or booking. We won't send you marketing unless you ask for it. If you're a customer and we ever tell you about a similar service, every message will let you say "stop", free of charge, and we will stop.
Your rights
You can ask us, free of charge, whether we hold information about you and what it is; ask us to correct or delete it; and object to how we use it, including the visit counter. Email ai@randswitch.com or ai@randswitch.com, or call 081 745 1306. We may need to check who you are first, and we'll reply within 30 days. We may keep records the law requires us to keep.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa): inforegulator.org.za · POPIAComplaints@inforegulator.org.za · 010 023 5200.
Security
We keep your details in password-protected accounts with two-step sign-in, share them only as described above, and delete them when we no longer need them. If we learn of a security breach that affects you, we'll tell you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.
Children
Our sessions are for adults. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian must contact us and agree to the booking.
Changes
If we change this notice, we'll update this page and the version and date at the top. Earlier versions are available on request.
